Education
  • At least 6 months year experience with children ages 5-12.
  • Current Adult/CPR and First Aid certification or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English.
Reporting Responsibility
  • Must maintain adult/pediatric CPR and First Aid certification to remain qualified for position.
Preferred qualifications
  • A California Driver's License, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance.
Responsibilities
  • To assist in the planning and conducting of group activities based on the enrichment curriculum.
  • To supervise and interact with the children in a positive manner.
  • To assist in providing a wide variety of experiences for children with an emphasis on enriching their school experience.
  • To use sensitivity and good judgement when interacting with children, parents, staff, volunteers, and school personnel.
  • To provide a safe and well supervised environment.
  • To administer CPR and First Aid in emergency situation prior to emergency personnel's arrival.
  • To work with children to maintain a clean environment in the library, classrooms, playground and any other areas of the campus used by the program.
  • To read and implement all Agency and program policies.
  • To interact in a positive, professional manner with School District Personnel and other visitors.
  • To give registration and program information to prospective families and to actively recruit and enroll children into the program.
  • Coordinate activities with collaborative community partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Reporting Responsibility
  • Works under direction of the Site Supervisor.
Job Specs
  • Twelve month work year.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation, or any other factor may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the Agency's contracts, or at Agency discretion.
Status and Starting SalaryPart-Time, Non-Exempt: $8.58/hr. + Benefits
