Education
  • Basic secretarial and bookkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work well with people, a sensitivity to the needs of children and families.
  • Proven typing and 10-key skills.

  • Minimum of three (3) years accounting experience.
  • Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English.
Preferred qualifications
  • Bilingual skills may be required (Spanish/Chinese).
  • A California Driver's License, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Fiscal Manager by performing bookkeeping functions, including provider payment processing, parent fee billing, parent fee reconciliation, and other bookkeeping tasks.
  • Under direction of the Fiscal Manager processes provider checks.
  • Under direction of the Fiscal Manager and/or Subsidized Coordinator assist with transferring of children/money.
  • Under direction of the Fiscal Manager assist with auditing procedures and check and balance procedures on a monthly basis.
  • Assist the Fiscal Manager with training and mentoring new fiscal assistants.
  • Perform secretarial functions including typing, filing, mailing, computer input and telephone responsibilities.
  • Assist the Fiscal Manager with training and mentoring new fiscal assistants.
  • Handle receptionist responsibilities or errands as needed.
  • Complete division reports in a timely manner.
  • Review, calculate and enter provider payments from attendance sheets, using 10-key.
  • Maintain accurate provider payment projections.
  • Assist parents/providers with questions regarding attendance sheets and child care payments.
  • Works with Provider Outreach Managers to resolve problems with providers.
  • Assist the Department Coordinators and Division Administrator as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Works under direction of the Fiscal Manager.
  • Twelve month work year.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.
  • Employment, responsibilities, compensation, or any other factor may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the Agency's contracts, or at Agency discretion.
Status and Starting Salary Full-time; Non-exempt, $18.17/hr. + Benefits
